Awareness Manicures and Mental Health Awareness Month

Dearest Tadpoles,
I have decided that for the month of October that I am going to do some special manicures. I really don't like Halloween so much. I know I am weird.
I located all the special days and awareness by using the famous Wikipedia page.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October ). I printed off a calendar and labeled the days that I wanted to complete the manicures. I decided that since there are a lot of manicures to complete that I would do one on each hand. So my left might be better than my right, since I am right hand dominant. LOL
Mental Illness Awareness Month, is something that is near and dear to my heart. I will not gone into the boring details of my injury again. I developed some craziness going from a totally active person to a totally non-active person. I can't lift anything heavy, mow grass (which I loved doing), dressing myself sometimes to dealing with people in situations because I am scared that I might get hit in arm. So that is some of my issues.
I am also showing my support for all individuals that are battling with Mental Health Issues.

I choose randomness because I feel that I can't think and get just one thought to complete in my head. I love the blue nail polish to show my support and the blue is because my mental health issues make me blue. The essie polish stamped so well.
I hope that you stop and support anyone that has any form of Mental Health Issues or Illness. I have started to post all my pics in a collage format. Tell me what you think about them. Should I stop and show individual pictures of my manicures?

Love,
Chrisie

World Cerebral Palsy Day September 04, 2012

Tadpoles,
Today I decided after reading a post from a friend, Mrs. Judy Gilbert that I was going to complete a special manicure. Mrs. Judy has twin grandsons, Aidan and Cian. The twins were born June 24, 2009 and were premature. Aidan developed cerebral palsy due to scarring from a brain bleed along with his prematurity.

Mrs. Judy's grandbabies are so precious. I decided that since tomorrow is World Celebral Palsy Day
(09/04/2012) that my manicure would be dedicated to Aidan.

This is Aiden with his contagious smile and him with his Grandmother Judy.

I used several different stamping plates to complete this manicure. Starting on my left hand: :middle finger
(BM321), ring finger (Cheeky XL C), and pinky (BM317). Right hand: middle finger (My Online Shop), ringer finger (BM 321), and pinky (Cheeky XL C).
I used the base polish of Sinful Colors, 101, Snow Me White and the stamping polish is Sinful Colors, 960, Envy.  I made the water decals of Aidan and Mrs. Judy on my thumbs along with his name. I copied the World Cerebral Palsy Day imagine from the website.

Please let me know what you think. Wear your green to show your support tomorrow.

XOXOXO

PCOS Awareness Mani for Awareness Month!

Tadpoles,
Today's post is a special one, I am showing my support for PCOS, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.  PCOS is when there is a hormone imbalance in a woman that interferes with ovulation.  Unfortunately there is no cure for PCOS, and many times a patient can be misdiagnosed.  Below are only a few symptoms of PCOS...

Infertility
Problems breathing while asleep

This month is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome awareness. Let's all show our support by sporting your teal manicures.

I put this on both of my thumbs.

I used Everybody Loves Redmond as the base polish. To show that I love to support woman that have this syndrome. I used Sinful Colors, 950, Savage as my teal stamping polish. I used Ebony hates Chris as the black stamping polish. I used several different stamping plates to create this manicure: BM 321, BM09, Mash 38 and Cheeky C. The NAIL ROOM!!!!

Dear Tadpoles,
I have been procrastinating with posting. However, I have been doing alot for my nail room. My NAIL ROOM, I have three rooms in my house. We only use the master bedroom, so I have two extra rooms. One  is used as a share room with two twin beds in there. The other room was used as a Homeschooling room for my husbands niece and nephew. That did not go past the winter semester. So we were using the room as the computer room. I decided why not use the room as my NAIL ROOM.
I already had a long table and a 4 tier bookshelf in the room. I was using the bookshelf  to store my polishes. Well, my AWESOME Husband had me two long heart wall shelves built for me. They were meant to store my EXTREMELY large frog collection on them. I thought to myself, " Those shelves would be great to hold my polishes... VOILA!!!!!!!! Here they are.....

We had already finished building my Lightbox. We used the LightBox design that I found at http://www.ninthandbird.com/2011/12/diy-photo-light-box-take-better-photos.html . I am so glad that we were able to build it. Viola!!!!

My husband came up with an awesome idea on how to store it. He attached some small hooks on the back of the Lightbox and then I put up some small Command hooks up. VIOLA!!!!

How I store the Lightbox
So what do you think? Is it a cool room or what!!!!!!

The Princess' Toadstools-My most embarrassing pedicure

Well, I am sorry that I have not posted in several days. I was hitting the mushrooms...No really, I just have been doing alot around the house and dealing with medical issues. I will go into all that later.
I am a member of the Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge Group on Facebook. It is a group where there are Nail Art Challenges or Monkey See, Monkey Do Mondays (MSMD), where a person can create their favorite art from other bloggers.
The challenge for July 8, 2012, was the most embarrassing toes. At first I was like, are these people really ready to see my toes. I sat in my nail room figuring out how I could make this experience less dramatic as possible.
I decided to just paint my nails a simple pink color that would not draw to much attention to my toes. I pick to use Sinful Colors-Dream On-113. So applied a simple topcoat and applied two coats of the Dream On. I did not like the simplicity of the nail polish. I choose to apply some white dots using the dot maker tool. After applying several dots and a top, I looked at my nails and was very impressed with the way that they looked.

I know what you are thinking while looking at this picture. Her toes are weird looking. Well, You know what they are weird. I will tell you why they look weird.
When I was 6, the big toe on the right foot was ripped off while I was riding a big wheel down a hill without shoes..OUCH!! The left foot big toe was always getting ingrown so it was surgical removed. The second toes were damaged by smashing one with a weight and the other one got pulled out with I was getting into the tub. Weird accident with a towel.
You will notice that all the other nails are kept short. I don't like the way my toes feel in socks..I know I am total weird.
After posting my pictures of the pedicure, I was totally amazed by the support that I received from other members of the group. Emily Esqueleta Blasphemy and Dina Ramse, both stated that I was "Brave" for posting my pedicure. I don't think of myself as brave just a normal chick with toenail issues. Michelle Blaer and Claudia van Dijk, stated that they had the same small toenail issues. Ladies, "THANK YOU" for the positive words. I am glad that I was able to open the door to the weird toes ward.
For all the other people that are scared to "Rock" those small toes, toes that have no nails, or nails that grown upward and inward. JUST PAINT YOUR SKIN AND WEAR THEM PROUDLY. Sorry that this was long post. I just wanted to show my support.
Keep the toadstools painted and bright.
